Concept
Jishaku.org will cater to all lovers of asian media. Whether you're a lurker, a leecher, a troll or a fansubber, you'll feel right at home.
We want to ease some of the burden placed on fansubbers/scanlators by giving everyone a stable home. By becoming a member of Jishaku.org, you can have that and more!
Features
All users of Jishaku.org will receive access to their own blog, forum, wiki, pastebin and file dump under their own <user>.jishaku.org subdomain that they can use as they see fit. By following a simple verification procedure, a custom domain can be linked to each account. Along with this, they will also receive access to Jishaku's custom-built Project Management System.
Groups can apply for their own blogs, forums, or any other feature offered by the site. Additionally, group members get access to sophisticated tools to ease the release process of their productions.
Not all features have to be used at all times. If you don't have a use for a wiki, you can choose not to use it, or disable it completely. All tools also have fine-grained access controls for user and group permissions.
Content
All content will be user-managed. All forums will be controlled by the users, all wikis, all blogs, everything. We're here to help you, not to get in your way. The only time we'll step in is to remove illegal content.
Users will be free to add any content they like to their public services. If you're a fansubber, you can host your scripts on your blog. If you're a scanlator, you can put up previews of your releases.
The most popular content will earn its own place on the front page of the website, so if you make a good post on your blog or an important topic in your forums, make sure you tell your friends!
Technical Details
There will be numerous APIs to interact with Jishaku.org data, including metrics and statistics on visitors. Have you ever wanted to know what kind of people are reading your posts? Now you'll be able to. Of course there will be no sensitive data provided through these APIs.
If you don't want to abandon your own site or your current home, that's ok! We can set up your subdomain to redirect your visitors to your existing website, or you can just redirect some parts of your Jishaku.org account somewhere else.
We will provide methods for importing data from select services or linking your Jishaku.org account to them. For example: if you have a wordpress.com account that you post under already, you will be able to migrate all your data over to Jishaku automatically.
